Mission Statement
Christ the King Academy seeks to support Christian families
by providing a Christ-centered education that promotes
Godly Character, Academic Excellence, Physical Development and Social Skills

School History
In 1974, several pastors in the North Kitsap area desired to see a Christian School established to meet the needs of local Christian families. The operation of the “King’s West Academy” began as a "satellite" of King's Schools in Edmonds. The first year, the school met at Island Lake in Silverdale, Washington. One year later, our name became “Christ the King Academy” when the school became an affiliated ministry of Christ Memorial Church, in Poulsbo, Washington.

CKA began with a PACE program and grew to include kindergarten through 12th grade. However, in the mid-80’s, the high school program was discontinued. CKA now offers a traditional program in kindergarten through 9th grade, utilizing both Christian and secular texts and curriculum. Approved by the State of Washington, the school has professional, state-certified faculty who are all active in their faith in Jesus Christ. CKA nurtures children in their development of learning by asking the most important questions. What does what we are learning have to do with the bigger picture of God, creation, humanity, moral order, and purpose?

CKA is a ministry of Christ Memorial Church, which is an Assembly of God fellowship of believers. The church upholds the school with prayer, guidance, headship, and facility use support. CMC provides designated space for classrooms, administrative offices, library space, rest room facilities, and recreation areas. Although CMC does not assume any financial responsibility for the operation of the school, it takes care of major repairs and maintenance of the facility. The school enjoys the prayerful support of a large number of other church fellowships in the Kitsap area as well.

CKA fulfills CMC’s ministry to teach children to walk in the Word and way of the Lord. The school Administrator/Principal is hired by CMC. CMC considers CKA to be an integral part of its ministry to its congregation and of its witness and service to Christians in the community.
