MASTER PLAN UPDATE
Because of continued growth over many years, CMC formed a Master Plan study group to determine facility, ministry space, and equipment needs well into the future.

The congregation was involved in the decision-making process, voting in December 1996 to move ahead with the facilities expansion plan, allowing for more people and ministry. Our theme was: We Build People: A Vision for the Future.

Ground was broken in 1997 to begin Phase One of the Master Plan for Ministry Expansion. This included extensive above- and below-ground site work, the addition of 144 parking spaces, the West Wing building, new entrances off Hostmark Street, the new sanctuary multimedia system, and air conditioning in the sanctuary and Munger Chapel. Construction funds were raised through personal pledges to be paid over 36 months, and through other generous gifts.

Phase Two was completed in January 2002, and included the Fellowship Hall and its new multimedia system, church office complex, the new church nursery, a storage building, lighting and pipe organ renovations (some yet to be completed), and extensive landscaping.

Construction funds were raised through a second capital campaign as people made personal pledges to be paid over another 36 months, through other generous forms of giving, and a commercial loan.
